Madrid, 20th of January 2007. Satec has announced the next availability of DataMovil 3.0, based on a new generation of Xforms processing engine, currently undergoing debugging and testing.

DataMovil 3.0 will be delivered in two different editions: PDA edition and Smartphone edition. The PDA edition will incorporate all the new functionality and improvements of the new Xforms engine and will work on Windows Mobile devices like the current DataMovil 2.3. The SmartPhone edition will be a new release of DataMovil, suitable for high-end mobile devices supporting a MIDP 2.0 profile of the J2ME. The first devices to be certified for DataMovil 3.0 Smartphone Edition will be Blackberry and Nokia handsets. Both editions share the same Xforms processor.

The new Xforms engine is 100% compliant with the processing model of Xforms 1.0 and covers about a 90% of the markup of Xforms 1.0 Basic Profile as well as some features of the forthcoming Xforms 1.1.

A preview of the new Xforms processors will be shown at the 3GSM World Congress to be held in Barcelona, February 12-15.
